Gitsugukla - This one is for the #EmilyCarr fans who are following my #emilycarrtrail. The crest peeking from weeds encroaching on a fallen #totempole reminds me of Emily's encounters with poles all but obscured by the rainforest jungle during the time each year when the #Indigenous inhabitants moved to the local fish cannery for employment. Carr saw this actual pole on her visits to the #Skeena River villages in 1912 and 1928. This image is included in my show In Search of Emily Carr on now at the Merrickville Public Library.
