Finalists have been announced for the 2022 BC Independent Book Awards and we are thrilled that Emily Carr’s BC: Book 2: Northern BC & Haida Gwaii is on the list. Winners will be announces on October 14 at the Whistler Writers Festival.
Delighted to announce that Emily Carr’s BC: Northern BC & Haida Gwaii has been shortlisted for the Whistler Independent Book Awards.
This is my personal favourite of the Emily Carr’s BC trilogy. It deals with only a few weeks of Emily life during the summers of 1912 and 1928. Yet her experiences on these two northern journeys reveal a great deal about Emily’s character and motivation, and contributed enormously to the material for her art and writing.
My own journey was both illuminating and poignant.
